The Next Master Chef?

This afternoon I laid Charlotte down (I got lucky there!) and had a few (yea right, a million!) tasks to do. To keep Aiden occupied, I let him get out the pots and pans. He loves playing with these! He pretends to make supper and I am constantly "tasting" his soup creations!

Today we took his cooking a step further. I gave him real food. I've had a box of whole wheat pasta in the cupboard for...a very long time. We just didn't care for it. So I gave him that, oyster crackers and Chocolate Fiber One cereal (another item we didn't care for, but kept around...who knows why!) I totally recommend this activity! Plus, it helps keep your cupboard clean!

He was elated! He used the measuring spoons, stirred and filled the pots with his creations. Several times I heard him exclaim, "delicious!" I hope he didn't actually try that...but, if you are interested in trying his "delicious" cooking, please stop by!

Watch out Gordon Ramsey.

Birthday Shopping

Disclaimer: I am posting from my phone and can not seem to find a way to place the pictures from my phone with the appropriate blurb. Is there a way to do this from the iPhone??
--------------------------------------

Aiden turned two at the beginning of June and was loved ALOT from his family ;)
With his giftcards and birthday money in hand, well, in mom's hand, he ventured to the store! This is quite an interesting experience...how on earth do you control a 2 year old in the toy section (which we had successfully avoided for the most part)?! He had trucks pulled out and pushed halfway down the aisle, yelling "wow way cool!" at each toy and grabbed for everything he could reach. It was actually quite fun to watch :)

First, we helped him choose a shovel. He really enjoys helping Daniel in the garden and tries to use the big shovel quite frequently. Hopefully he will enjoy this!

Then he had a few choices to make but ended up choosing (with maybe a little encouragement from his mom) the computer. It really is cool...and he likes to play computer with his dad. :)

At the last store, he picked a marble drop set?? Not sure what it's called, but pieces connect together and marbles drop down it. It's pretty cool. And Daniel helped choose a track for his matchbox cars. I later find out both these toys were a BIG deal in Daniel's childhood. ;) And may I add, dress up sets have come along way since my childhood! Wow! I look forward to "influencing" Charlotte's birthday shopping someday ;)

This is worth sharing as well...we enjoyed pizza at Red Rossa and Aiden received a free gelato with his meal. He so very kindly was offering me bites. And then he attacked me with a loaded spoonful of chocolate gelato. On my neck, in my hair, down my arm. Honestly, it was hilarious. I thought I was getting another bite and he totally psyched me out. The table next to us got a laugh too. :)

A very fun Saturday for the Lichter's! A big thank you to his Grandpa Tom/Grandma Ilene, Grandma Sue/Grandpa John and Ruth & Clarence :) I need to ask, do any of you "help" your kiddos pick their toys with their spending money?

Hello and Welcome!

Here I go starting another blog but I am hopeful this one will stick. :0)

I wanted a way to share with our family and friends, both near and far, what we do everyday, where we go, how our kids grow, and yes, perhaps a little knitting.

My goal is to keep you posted on our lives but also share some fun ideas, projects and likely, Pinterest successes and failures.
